Senate Bill 54 and Assembly Bill 1080, the California Circular Economy and Plastic Pollution Reduction Acts, are making progress, but we need your immediate help to ensure that the bills become law. 

Please call and encourage your Senator/Assemblymember to support SB 54 and AB 1080. 

Here is a quick, clear sample message for your representative: 

“Plastic pollution is a huge problem in district X, and we need a solution. This bill is part of the solution. Please ask the Senator/Assemblymember to vote in support of this bill.”

As you well know, plastic pollution is a scourge on our environment, and its only expected to get worse. By 2050, scientists predict, the amount of plastic in our oceans will outweigh fish. Plastics are making their way into our oceans, waterways, food, and even our bodies. 

Only bold legislation will get us out of this mess. SB 54 and AB 1080 represent one of the most comprehensive pieces of plastic pollution reduction legislation in the entire world. Passage of these measures would be a historic step forward for the state of California, further entrenching the Golden State as a world leader in environmental issues.

Big-money plastic industry lobbyists are doing everything in their power to kill these essential measures. We must be loud and clear in our denouncements of the status quo being pushed by Coca-Cola, Nestle, and the like.
